First day of kali

I visited the bahad zubu group in Minnesota and it was fun as hell.

I got to do a sort of play spar on the first day with foam sticks and I am told I'll be able to go on to more unrestricted stuff in about a month.

They actively compete nationally. Anyone ever fight them in a tournament?

I don't think I've ever competed against Bahad Zubu, but its possible. I've seen some videos and there's some neat stuff. This is one I found particularly interesting:

I like how they start from a stalemate with both guys reaching for their opponent's weapon while turning the body and covering the hilt to defend their own. Never done any training like that myself.

They also use the kampilan in that style, which is pretty neat.
