Like him or hate him, Nelson- aka Pancakes, definitely has serious skills on the ground. The man beat Frank Mir at a Grappler's Quest match, for chrissakes.

It was an entertaining fight. I was sad that Marcus Jones was KO'd though. I like that guy most of the time. Is he bipolar?
One minute he says "I just want to unleash the Darkness and fight."
After he loses it's "I'm quitting because I don't want to put my family through all this".

On a different note I'm surprised that McSweeney wasn't stabbed in his sleep after locking the kooky guy in the bathroom, kicking him in the balls, choking him, then sitting on the bed beside him saying "I'll knock you the **** out, mate." I was glad that Nelson blubber-bloodied his face. Watching him flail under Big Country was great.

Yes, Pancakes standing up cheering, with a big smear of McSweeney's blood on his gut was great. Havn't cheered so much for Nelson all season.

Schaub landed a punch in the opening exchange, after which Marcus did the exact same clinch and post-trip that he did in his first fight. Again, it works. Marcus passes to side control, ground and pounds a bit, threatens a couple keylocks, then passes to full mount. A bit more ground and pound (but slowing down) before Brendan escapes back to his feet.

On the feet, Brendan launches a flurry and despite eating a desperation knee to the skull from Marcus (this shot looked really solid, btw- thought it would have done more damage than it appeared to) Brendan knocks him down with a solid right, and ko's Marcus on the ground.

What I like about Brendan is that while he shows his inexperience and gets in trouble spots, he is very fedor-like in the way he just seems to stay calm and immediately look to recover offense. The guy's been training for such a short period of time that I am VERY interested to see what he looks like a year from now.

Well, shitty grapplers usually don't beat bjj black belts. I know that bjj black belts are not yet as common as TKD black belts yet, but give the man some credit.

BJJ black belt + competing at that level = above average grappling ability if not excellent grappling ability

Unless things have changed and my instructor is just being a dick for not handing out bjj black belts.

Marcus is fighting Mitrione in the finale.
Personally I didn't have any problem with Mitrione, why not play up a potential injury in order to at least frustrate your opponents ability to prep? Also, he seemed genuinely upset about Junk's injury (which I think might have contributed to his tentativeness against dumbass british guy).

Rather than Marcus-Mitrione I would like to see a rematch between Mitrione and McAnnoying. I think Mitrione takes a rematch.
