Picture this. You are a fighter pilot. Your aircraft has bombs, machine guns, rockets, has a top speed of a million mph and can do maneuver like nobody's business. But you have no parachute, so if you're hit, you're basically dead.
BJJ is your parachute. And if you're mainly concerned about rape scenarios, your aircraft WILL get hit, metaphorically. -

Not "may not." Is not.
Also, Quebec has a population of nearly 8,000,000. Is the street rapist from ten years ago who is "still out there" (unless he choked on some bad poutine nine years ago) really the chief worry you should have?
You're much more likely to be raped by your boyfriend, husband, or someone else you know than by some perv in the bushes (also, that perv in the bushes may have a gun or knife—which means he gets to recommend a position other than missionary if he likes). So let's say you manage to sweep your husband when tries to rape you. What happens an hour later? A day later? A week later? -

well I was talking about Quebec the city, and he was active in the Sainte-Foy suburb, wich is roughly 90 000 of population.
as for the husband scenario... well, it depends on what you mean by rape... is having sex with your husband when you don't feel like it a rape? I don't think so... maybe abuse... well, pretty confusing subject... I guess it has to include violence to count as a rape, so if he'd get violent than what would happen one hour later is he would be taken away by the police, a day later, I would fill out divorce forms etc. -

I watch an awful lot of disturbing porn. And I think it pretty much stands to reason that the female in a sexual assault is extremely likely to get taken down by the typically larger and stronger rapist, often regardless of wrestling ability because of the initial shock. What do you think would be more correct?
Additionally, I don't see how "he may not want missionary" is an argument at all. I know how to sweep or submit people from guard. I also know how to get people off my back. This is because of BJJ training. I also don't see how "what if he has a knife" is an argument, because that's already a complete game changer, unless you can recommend another style that is fantastic at fighting bladed weapons unarmed.Last edited by Shawarma; 11/27/2009 1:33pm at .

I'm really tired of this troll thing, especially since I don't really get what it means. I'm french so I don't get all the slang terms right. :eusa_doh:
If you mean that having intercourse when you don't really feel like it is rape, then 90 per cent of men can go straight to jail because you can't begin to imagine how often we say "yes" to our boyfriends only to please him when we really don't feel like it
