eBay has some low cost black bead blasted stainless swords. They are sharp and strong enough to be "functional."

What the hell you gonna do with this thing? You planning on raiding a village near your FOB?

Museum Replicas used to sell a stripped down, full tang ninjato some time ago. Don't know if they still have it.

Their site has what they call a "Practical Ninjato", but it looks more frilly to me than practical at first glance.

Chriswell of Oregon.

Makes his swords out of A-2 tool steel. So you can cut through car doors and stuff if you're so inclined. Sounds "functional" to me. Most of his stuff is Katana length, but I have seen 22" blade examples of his work. Pourpose built fighting sword, of modern material. Even the scabbards are made from some ridiculously strong polymer compound.

why you want a ninja-to? they are not a real sword , if you want something authentic get a oniyuri

Ninjato are more or less modern inventions...if you want a high quality sword you are probably better off going for a katana. However if you ask nicely you can borrow my shiruken collection as long as you bring it back.
