From what I gathered from the AAU Judo rules and the "3 enhancements" that Freestyle Judo (FSJ) has, it seems for the most part the same as IJF rules. However, I did note a lack of "Illegal moves" so this could turn out interesting. The FSJ website said the rules are still in development so I supposed we'll have to wait a bit longer. Hopefully the list of illegal moves will be reduced back to Kani Basami and body scissors.

ahhhhh found the full rules finally.
This will take a bit more to read so I'm posting this link for anyone interested

This is absurd. The fact of the matter is it is another way to draw people to compete at a tournament and will do nothing to progress the sport of Judo in the world. I do not agree with a lot of the IJF rules but I will not support a free style Judo movement.
BJJ, and subgrappling tournaments are making money that is the big thing. Judo tournaments are losing ground and they are trying to make it up by implementing new rules outside of the current. In the US it is sad people can not appreciate Judo for what it is.
The current state of the NGB and stuff like this will cause the US to lose Judo as an Olympic sport and we will see a plethora of tournaments with their own rules and made up "world champions".Judo is only gentle for the guy on top. -

A proven way to toss people on their heads, hold them down, break their arm and choke them out. Emphasis on proven. Other noteworthy aspects include wearing of the gi, the Ippon scoring system, and a widespread focus on the throwing aspect instead of the rest.

So drawing people to compete at a tournament somehow does not progress the sport? People do not appreciate judo for what it is because no one knows what it is. Many Judo prospects ask if judo even has newaza or is just throws. Judo is all the techniques of the kodokan including kata, not just what happens in olympic shiai. People can compete where and how they want as long as they are using judo. Who cares how many champions there are? Other sports have multiple champions and are doing just fine.
