That's kind of retarded for Fedor too. How many managers get paid more than %60 of the total fight purse?(that's AFTER taking into account his ownership shares in m-1). No matter how I slice that, he made less money for his fight than Tim Sylvia did, unless fedor is just banking hard on a "best of fedor in affliction" dvd.

unless there's a big money angle in this:
The rights include streaming rights, and extend beyond Fedor's fights to the undercard and preliminary fights. Many things we do naturally become difficult only when we try to make them intellectual subjects. It is possible to know so much about a subject that you become totally ignorant.

It's growing really fast in Korea and just starting to take off in China (weekly televised mma fights when i was there last year).

I assume he can wring some cash out of Japan.
Also, there are so many issues that a UFC contract could have broken down over. Remember that the UFC contracts can be financially generous, but they are total. For example, they include your exclusive likeness for video games and similar merchandising stuff, that could easily turn off a successfull indy fighter. -

I imagine based on above that Fedor's deal is really sweet compared to the UFC's offer. It is unfortunate that he will not be fighting the best but..... since he already is almost at legendary status I imagine he thought well it is time for the cash! Having rights for Asia and Russia has to end up in a lot of cash coming his way!

You guys might be getting a few things mixed up. Those fees represent two totally different things I believe. M-1 Global is a promotion company and they co promoted with Strikeforce and will probably distribute it throughout the Russian/Asian market. They will get paid that much money per fight......card. Also, if Fedor has done what most modern fighters do, he would've negotiated a gate share allowing him to take up to 3% of the net gate take for the fight making his purse much larger than that.
