Beginners: STFU and train

When I was in Korea training Hapkido we got a new guy from an air base in Japan who had some Aikido experience. Since there is some crossover in the techniques between the two systems this guy was constantly reverting to his previous traing and giving mini lectures to everyone around. Our instructor told him that if you had a glass half full of beer and someone wanted to give you a glass of wine you would have to empty the glass and wash it to truly taste it. You could always go back later for more beer if you wished. I always try to start at a new place with an empty glass.

STFU and train to fight: karate and judo/bjj are fun ways to learn to fight (so that you don't have to fight or improves your odds of survival if you have to, without a weapon).
