None taken, but I'm sure you know how hard it can be for old Chinese Masters to admit they've made mistakes in the past and avoid them in the future.

You do not have to have a Wingate Certificate to open and operate a Martial arts school in Israel, but if you want your school to be taken seriously and be able to carry insurance you need to have one.

Exactly. There's no high rank requirement specification in the site.
I really don't get people who have to get their next belt rank. If they know what they are doing and they are good teachers, they shouldn't care. Unless they are in it for the wrong reasons...

I know for a fact that Judo instructors for example, don't need a BB, I've met several blue and browns that have the wingate certificate. That doesn't mean they operate a Gym, just that they can usually help out, or wanted the certificate for the future.

I'm not trying to disparage anyone getting the certificate at all. Just talking about the guy trying to move up in Ranks with, a misunderstanding* concerning the etiquette in Israel.

First: Wingate is NOT the only place to get certified. Ronnie Kluger runs courses also. Second: Sure, you can teach without certification and insurance; but, wait until you get sued. No certification no teaching in community centers, schools, or sports clubs. Judo blue belts get certification, karate brown belts, chinese MA's brown. The big course is the coaches' course; not the teacher's course. Teacher's course is about 4600 nis. You also have to pass a separate first aid course.

Thanks for the other information. Ronin's point is, If the guy has the years and training necessary he doesn't need to be pushed early to an extra rank.

Thanks for dropping in dveed!

This is the kind of information I need. I am simply trying to determine if what I'm being told by this other student regarding teaching requirements in Israel is true or not and what are the minimum requirements to open and operate a martial arts school or club, be it in a community rec center or in their own private building.

IIF is correct regarding why I need the information. If the guy doesn't need to jump in rank to acquire certification to operate in Israel then there is no need to allow him to test early.

I greatly appreciate all the information that everyone has contributed and if you have more that may be of use please post it as soon as you can.
