Wren was throwing a lot of wild punches and a lot were missing in the second round. Roy was just dodging Wren's punches and jabbing. Roy hit Wren a lot more than Wren hit Roy. I don't think you should get points for just running into someone's fists, even if it is being aggressive.
I have to ask. When you watch movies, do you think the actors actually hit each other?
I was kind of daydreaming during the first couple minutes of the fight. I thought Wren hurt Roy with that combination, but after watching the replay it seemed like only 1 maybe 2 strikes were good. I do like that Wren pushed the action though.
Roy won that fight. Even if it went to the 3rd, Wren couldn't do anything.
After listening to Dana talk ****, I kind of hope Roy wins a really boring ass fight in the finale just to **** with Dana a bit.Last edited by Travis17; 11/12/2009 3:36pm at .

Guy Who Pays the Bills and Gets the Death Threats Style: MMA (Retired)--
Roy's simply creatively lazy. He's doing the absolute bare minimum to see himself in the finals and it's infuriating Dana White because it makes for shitty television.

Ah, I love it when I get treated to a bout of "Ultimate Boxing" (not even "Ultimate Kickboxing"!) It's sooooo exciting. Seriously, what was with this fight? You have a (almost?) world class wrestler fighting a BJJ black belt and there was no grappling, very little clinch work and about 2 kicks thrown. Yes, yes, I know how it works. Nelson "couldn't" take Wren down and Wren was "afraid" of Nelson's submissions. So they both kept it standing. Blah, blah. Boring ass fight. Or at least, no more exciting than a no-name undercard fight on a Showtime boxing special. And I'm not much of a boxing fan.
I gave the fight to Wren based on... gut feeling. He just seemed more aggressive and looked to me like he was landing more. But I wasn't counting punches or nothin'. Surprising, I admit, since there was really little else to do when watching the fight. -

Every season of TUF should start with a 30 day cardio camp. Then they wouldn't have such low-energy fights.
I think Roy's being smart, even though it's boring as hell to watch. He seems to bring up his game depending on his opponent. Hopefully the next round will bring out some action. -
