I see going down the same way UFC 102 vs Mayweather/Marquiz. Strikeforce is going to break the bank regardless of Main Events and Dana's going to be asked at a press conference what he thought about it, and he'll try to pass it off as if he didn't care.

And as for Main Events I'll just watch the reruns Sunday.:new_popco

There's always been a counter-program for events like these. I remember they put on "Ultimate Iceman" the same night as an EliteXc card, and they had the Silva vs. Irvin fight to counter an Affliction event.

Honestly I'd much rather watch Strikeforce over UFC anyway. As someone said in the event thread, the production is way more normal-sport-like, and that makes me happy.

People forget that business is about maximizing the ability to make money, not necessarily about being fair like Mother Theresa. Kinda sucks for Strikeforce, but, as dickish a move as it might be, this is what the UFC as a business and Dana as its president are supposed to do.

Strikeforce should (must) know that suck moves will occur again and again and again. If they are a solid business and if the execs are smart enough about it, they'll survive and prosper despite that. Capitalist survival of the fittest.
