wel if this thread is reopent anyway,i fought a boxer a few days ago,he cross trains and was at our school.
Sparred with him, full contact on ITF rules(so no kicking below the belt,no knees,no elbows)iWasnt that hard..maybe he's a bad boxer, but with good hard frontkicks,(he just did not guard against frontkicks)and combination round/back/heel kicks it was easy, just had to make sure he could not get to close.. -

There's no way any professional boxer would lose to a tkd artist PERIOD. What it comes down to is conditioning Boxer will take a hit then lay you out. Even if the rules allowed the TKD fighter to use his whole arsenal, punching, especially with boxing technique is with out a doubt one of the most effective form of striking. There may be a lucky low side kick to the knee that the tkd arts may get away with but as long as the boxers Knees are bent he'll be okay.
9chambers as For TKD having no throws the O Soto Gari from judo is clearly illustrated as a technique that is supposed to be taught according to the Kukkiwon handbook. As well as a couple other throws. -

I would go with the Boxer.
The way all TKDers spar is all kicks, its very rare to see one who does as much punching as their kicking. Also the fact that tkd is distance fighting, you need a certain amount of room to kick.On the other hand if a boxer penetrates the tkd users distance..then he is f0cked.I doubt the fight would last even 5 minutes...unless the tkd guy knows how to kick while springing backwards. -
