    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Couture calls for Ricky Hatton to join UFC

    http://www.manchestereveningnews.co....on_to_join_ufc

I can't see it happening but it would certainly bring in some new fans

I actually could see it happening. Hatton's always been a big fan of the UFC & MMA.

Truth be told, Ricky could come out blazing. But, and its a bit but, he would/will get tooled on the mat. But I would be happy to be walking in a Hatton wounder land.

If I could pick a dude to go MMA though it would be Kelly Pavlik. When that cat fights it is like fucking your third-removed cousin. Technically it is still wrong but feels so right. I think he could do it.

Ray Mercer had some success crossing over to MMA.

But seriously, boxers have the physical assets, work ethic, and desire to do harm to be successful in MMA. If not now, then soon enough, there will be more money in MMA as well. Its only a matter of time before we see more picking up clinch and wrestling skills and crossing over.

Hatton is one of my all time favourite boxers but on a similar note apparently Joe Calzaghe wants to fight Alex Reid if the moneys right http://www.imdb.com/news/ni1129528/

Maybe a top ten boxer who did some high school Wrestling could make the transition but a world champ boxer makes so much money that for them to jump in to MMA makes no sense financially

Iíve heard lots of Boxing fans criticize the boxing skills of MMA fighters but what they fail to realise is that in MMA, not only have you got smaller gloves which donít cover the whole of your head but you have to stand different so as to be able to kick and move to avoid take downs etc.

    1) Entire standup game is based on lunging into the clinch
    2) Has never wrestled
    3) Is British, genetically designed to suck at wrestling
    4) Would be undersized and fighting at lightweight, the wrestliest division

    truly he will go far
