As it realates to the over all skills of the fighters on this show, does anyone think they were picked to give Kimbo a better chance to win...banking on his internet popularity, but knowing he lacks expeirience?

These first round fights aren't much worse than those in seasons past where they also didn't fight to get on the show.
That's probably true, actually. If I remember correctly, the first round HW fights on season 2 were pretty lackluster.

At least they didn't have any issues with people actually quitting the show because they "couldn't take the cameras" like in previous seasons when they didn't fight to get in.

The **** factor isn't any higher than usual. The difference is that it is just concentrated. Rashad, being a good coach and having a good assisting staff, picked a good team. Rampage does not have several of those things.
    Truth.

Like some others have already said, the first round of fights is ALWAYS like this. I think that season 5 had the best talent in the top 6-8 fighters, but after the first round I thought they all pretty much sucked (except for Lauzon because he'd beaten Pulver already). It'll get better when the winners start fighting each other and the whole "Kimbo's coming back!" crap dies off.

Also, I fully expect a bunch of Rashad's guys to have to go train with Rampage, especially if none of his guys win. They'll almost have to do that or there wouldn't be anything going on with half of the people on the show.

None of Rampages guys will win. They have to be disheartened and well...their coach is a shitbag with poor strategy, no motivation skills, and a crappy coaching team. Rashad's team is precisely the opposite. They have every advantage other than sheer size.

Big Baby's gonna do OK for one round next week, then completely collapse and get put to sleep.

If I was Rashad I'd get some blankets and pillows for Page's team. They all end up asleep whenever they enter the cage, so they may as well be comfy-womfy.

It seems that the pool of talent for HW is shallower than for the other divisions.
Also, I have taken to start watching the show 45 minutes late, just to catch the fight and miss most of the man-drama.

That's probably what I should do, but I know that's not going to happen. Last night I was installing windows next to the television set anyway.
