wait ... isnt that how everyone strikes ?
in boxing i remember my coach telling me to stay loose and not tense up when i throw punches, just snap them, which does provide for faster punches actually.
in MT i was taught not to tense up and instead loosen up my leg and use my hip rotation to swing it around battering anything it touches.
THATS JUST FUCKING COMMON STRIKING SENSE
.... seriously, some of this **** makes me ashamed of being from Russia, thats why i stay away from systema threads, because a drunk voice in my head starts telling me to cook lamb shashlik on my passport.

The bloodyelbow boards almost qualify for an HDA article, in all their blatant stupidity...

Fedor can't possibly do Systema, his belly is not big enough.
Ah, if only some people trained hard to learn how to punch people efficently and then tested it under full-contact Ko rules... you know, just like boxing.
Seriously, if there was a more efficent way of punching people than that from boxing, wouldn't boxers be the first ones interested in learning it?

Yeah, I love how every striking art has all these secret techniques that look and feel just like boxing. Weird!

Yeah - but the Systemistas have it that they've discovered a brand new way of punching that allows the power from the strike to penetrate deeper into the flesh of the opponent. Something to do with not throwing a punch at all - but just letting the fist on the end of your arm hit them. Or something.

Systema is good if you guys would just try it.
The problem as I see it is that systema is for real combat, whereas boxing and other games that look like fighting but aren't are for sport.
My base reaction is that you guys are all scared of it, as well you should be.
Don't get me wrong. I understand why you guys would think that games like boxing or target shooting or NASCAR are "the real deal" and get all excited about it.
Just remember that Muay Thai actually comes from Thailand. And Thailand is known for what? That's right - ladyboys.
And boxing? Fistfighting with pillows on your hands? Really? Really?! Oh **** off!Originally Posted by Cullion
