On Wednesday, Sept. 2, World Extreme Cagefighting® brings its hard-hitting, explosive brand of mixed martial arts to one of the finest fight towns in the country. The best light weight fighters in the world will be on display when WEC invades the Covelli Centre in Youngstown, OH. In the main event, fan favorite Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone battles feared striker Ben Henderson in a bout that will crown the interim WEC lightweight champion.

“The fight fans in Youngstown have a history of being some of the best in the country,” WEC General Manager Reed Harris said. “We’re happy to bring a championship fight and loaded card to our first trip to Ohio. We know the fans in Youngstown, and in surrounding areas like Cleveland and Pittsburgh, are anxious to see the WEC live.”

Damn, Cerrone vs. Henderson turned out to be an amazing bout. I'm in awe of Henderson's ability to resist submissions, although I was a little disappointed in the decision. I can't be too upset though; it was incredibly close. I've been a fan of Cerrone for a while and he's still one of my favorite guys to watch fight, but after tonight I can't wait to see another Henderson fight.

easily a fight of the year candidate, imo. i also thought cerrone took the first round, and thus the fight, and so does Varner, but apparently Cowboy is rather hard on himself, or gracious toward his very resilient opponent.

i basically googl'd "donald cerrone" and clicked on the first news link, titled: "Donald Cerrone on WEC 43 main event: Benson Henderson definitely won that fight"

WEC consistently puts on some of the best fights of the year.

Cerrone/Henderson wasn't a bad decision; round 1 was really, really, really close and the rest of the fight was pretty clearly 2 rounds to Henderson and 2 rounds to Cerrone. The tendency is to think Cerrone was robbed because he won the last round clearly, but realistically each guy took two rounds clearly and one round was extremely even, so it's not surprising for the judges to see it either way. Certainly not a robbery.

yeah. i thought it was weird all three judges scored it the same, but whatever, cerrone showed us that he is definitely up for championship level fights, in case he wasn't before.

Anybody else figure out why Henderson doesn't need to breathe, have blood flow to his brain, or have his joints go the right way to live? I think we should dissect him for the sake of medical science.
