    GKR Media BS

Yesterday on the news a brown belt who studied GKR claimed to "fend off a potential abductor" by "breaking his grip" and that made the "potential abductor" run away. I did GKR as a kid and i thought it was nothing but BS. Does anyone else think that this is a media hoax or it was genuine? Leave a post with your thoughts

Go Kan Ryu? More no-touch karate. Like the Choi Kwang Do of karate as far as I know

    Pretty special sparring:

YouTube - Gkr Karate And NAS Montage

"Go-Kan-Ryu Karate is a traditional Japanese style of karate. GKR is a non-contact karate, with a heavy emphasis on strong basics, kata (patterns) and kumite (sparring) and has grown to become one of the most popular karate organisations in the world, with well over 40,000 students taking part in classes on a weekly basis in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the USA. You don't *have* to be trained in martial arts to give a couple of smacks in the chops or a kick in the balls to some random trouble-seeking idiot who just grabbed you and make them lose their nerve and back off.

    Is that heresy? :new_silly

From everything I've read, Gokan Ryu is a joke - but it doesn't mean that their guys are all as weak as kittens...

    it's just eggs hatching.
