Doesn't really surprise me at all. It's MTV what do you expect. Who knows how much of the show is scripted at this point. Those articles all stem from the 1st season when the show probably could not get enough legitimate bully/victim applicants to fill a season so they naturally staged several of the episodes.
After the 1st season I'm sure that they got more legitimate actual bully/victim applications and needed to stage less of the show. I couldn't care either way. It's a highly viewed show that gets my fighter free exposure, free publicity, and some extra cash in his pocket. I hope it runs for many more seasons to come.
