Lol nooo. It promoted the idea that it's violent and there are seemingly no rules and only hinted it requires skill. Also that Jiu-Jitsu is apparently=karate.

I laughed pretty hard when the guy kneebarred himself. Actually, I laughed at quite a few parts of this episode. It's rare that modern Simpsons episodes get more than a giggle from me. That said, I found their portrayal of MMA to be pretty out of date, but whatever. Anyways, here's the full episode in good quality and unflipped.

I thought it was funny when a few people were lined up w/ letters that spelled out K-I-L-L...and then another person got in front of those letters w/ the letter S to spell out "Skill"...and immediately got punched in the stomach and dropped...so that the word again read "Kill".

After the dude with the K on his stomach hit the dude with the S, he walked off, with the word "ILL" remaining.

It was an entertaining enough episode. Certainly not as good as what the writers are capable of, but still entertaining. The fighter knee-barring himself was just great.
As for how the sport was displayed, I'm not surprised. It was a parody to how the UFC (the leading example in MMA) markets itself. So, I can't really fault them for how the sport was displayed, especially concerning the majority of the fans who watch it.

Would have been funnier if they'd gotten Dana to voice a parody of himself with every other word bleeped out. I'm sure he could have come off at least as crazy as Hank Scorpio.

Why that cartoon wasn't grittily realistic at all! And it poked fun at the foibles of something I enjoy!
