I don't want you to agree with me; it would dirty up my opinion.

Also note that I'm from Australia, so I don't get to see new episodes of Family Guy and The Simpsons until about three centuries after they've aired in the USA. Therefore I don't know, or care, how the episodes of the various shows compared this week.

I was just showing some of my family a video of one of my Jiu-jitsu competitions & they were, for the most part, completely unable to follow what was happening. I then watched this episode of the Simpsons & saw the joke where the guy accidentally leg locks himself. It seemed to me to perfectly capture that layman's inability to fathom the action in grappling. That did make me laugh, but I think I was laughing more about my family then the Simpsons' family.

Meh episode it did portray both sides through it's subtle commentary overall though it did nothing to help the image of the sport, but it did help it's popularity. Overall it took a "Let people enjoy what they enjoy approach".

I belive the mirrored image video is an attempt at dodging copywrite infringment.

It doesn't dodge copyright infringement, merely YouTube's detection of it.

This was the only episode in the past 3+ years that I thought was worth the watch. Only because of the MMA, of course.

FYI, Beavis ant Butthead tackled the issue of grappling way before Family Guy came on the scene. Back then, pizza cost $5, and gas was cheap...

    ...damn senility medication...

Whatever being parodied on Simpsons means the subject of parody is totally mainstream. Like musicians being parodied by Wierd Al Yankovich means that song is totally mainstream in pop culture.

So to me, it just means MMA definitely hit mainstream.

That's never good. Here come the soccer moms to sign up little Jimmy up for the local strip mall MMA class... for his.. ahem, confidence, honor, and self discipline, along with a belt... ohwait, they don't have belts? They will soon enough.

I was holding out hope that they would redeem the image of MMA to some extent by the end, with Marge realizing how difficult of a sport it is and how amazing the competitors are, but oh well. Also, the full episode is available on Hulu.
