Good point! But I thought that fakes tends to gravitate about bragging about weapons but not even read up on the fact that a satellite dish must be parabolic etc. You, see claiming to be an ex Seal is better if you want to peddle t3h d€4dl˙. But you don't see anyone doing similar claims if they want to peddle their books on radio communications. (And that's because most really good radio engineers are better than most Seals.)

stab him real good. if he packs the wound with dirt and gunpowder, binds it with his bandanna, and lives, he's the real deal. if he calls an ambulance or dies he's a fake. simple, really.

basic scuba diving questions can trip up some phonies. i'm padi open water and deep water certified and have managed to stump a handful of "seals". other than that BUD/s class number, swim buddy name, instructor names. all these can lead to an outing of a phony. might take some fact checking after the conversation, but it helps.

+1 on jessie ventura being the only seal who would wear a seal do-rag. j

and since i'm sure blacksmith is gonna chime in on this thread soon enough, what is the derogatory term used for phony seals or other fake spec ops guys?

anything else, talk to blacksmithseal. real operators can give much more

Good suggestion. Really good suggestion. 2 internets for that one! Mostly the Captain Obvious approach is the best one.

    Warcrazy,

I've nothing to add, except that I hope that you keep us updated on how this plays out.

He is a fake. I am still hoping my sis dumps this guy before I have to meet him. I told her not to bring him around me because I will not accept his BS. I can't imagine that situation playing out well for him as I am sure he would just keep coming up with more lies. :violent1:

As far as the bandana goes, I've yet to find a SEAL who would wear something like that. Maybe Jesse Ventura.[/quote]

Jessie Ventura was a UDT not a SEAL. Before 1983 there was a difference. Not that he wasn't a badass.

What was the conclusive evidence that he was a fake? Not that I don't believe you, I'm just hoping for a funny story...
