should mma have a black belt system?

Hey hey, I didn't know you were still posting, are you training in Sanshou now?

The thing is, these "black belts" would still get owned in full contact competition if they lacked the skill set required.

Its the same with BJJ, the more people getting promoted to blue who don't deserve it/have an internet belt, the more people I tap out in my next comp.

I don't think it is too much of a problem in full contact sports.

To have a belt system, then MMA would require practioners to wear Gis (belts would look stupid on shorts and MMA shirts). I don't want MMA to have Gis.

The belt system should be cowboy style....seeing as the idea is some country **** anyhow.

The higher your mma rank, the bigger the beltbuckle you get to wear. If you're caught lying about your rank, you get depantsed.

A belt system for the whole of MMA, which as has been pointed out many times, is just a set of competition rules is absurd. A belt system for any given MMA gym though is no more ridiculous in itself than a belt system for a TMA school. Granted most guys and girls training in ring sports such as MMA and MT seem to have negative feelings about grade systems but that doesn't make the concept illegitimate in itself.
