He's too small for the UFC lightweights.
Some of these guys cut down from 185 or so like the legendary Gleison "30 lbs" Tibau.
Even with Aoki's good takedowns and awesome ground skills, I could easily see him getting smothered by one of the big cutters/wrestlers.
Plus, his striking is not the best. He would get picked apart on the feet by many of the UFC's lightweights. -

When's the last time he fought at 145?
At 25 years old he's getting to the point where his metabolism could make it harder and harder to lose that kind of weight. Just because he can make that weight doesn't make him a 145er. I still say he's one of the strongest lightweights in the division. Hell half the UFC division could probably MAKE 145. That doesn't mean they should fight there. -
