    Although in my case, my issue is my right shoulder, which has dislocated 5 times from martial arts. Lifting doesn't cause it problems because I control the variables, rather than leaving control in the hands of the environment and my opponent. I don't slip on sweat and mats, nor do I have to worry about my opponent not respecting the tap, nor do I worry about missing an overhand and throwing my shoulder out.

    yeah i partially dislocated my left a couple of times the first time in sanshou, the second with an overreached jab while boxing.. except it messed up my weights routine, i couldn't military press for a long time

    Prolly try more rear delt work to help stablize the shoulder in the socket, rather than anterior delt work. It helped me out a ton.

    mine was odd though the muscle tore at the back instead, probably from disproportionate training to the anterior deltoids, I could bench but lifting my arms high was big ****.. swimming helped alot though, so anyone with a similar condition should give that a shot aswell

    I am suffering downtime for another reason. I got laid off in June and don't have any $$ for training. I moved to an apartment recently on the 12th floor so I have added the stairs as a training tool. Currently doing down and back up 11 flights four times in a row. Not bad for an old dinosaur. It builds leg strength and cardio and mental toughness. When you are puffing hard at the top of the stairs to turn around and head down to do it again takes a lot of will power.

    i really need to find a job, which is hard to do in this shitty economy and then find a new BJJ school to start training again.
