Omega *is* right, as usual. And respects to Herb Dean.

I think both letting the fight go in the first and stopping it in the second were good decisions. Herb makes perfect sense as to why he did each. I also think that Nelson should have put more effort into finishing Kimbo and he paid the price for not doing it (by having to go to the second round). However, he still won in dominating fashion. And it really says something about Kimbo that Roy was able to completely play with him in that way, by (almost) effortlessly putting Kimbo in a position where the fight had to be stopped even with less than convincing punching power. I mean, people are acting like he just stepped from youtube backyard fights to MMA. He didn't. He's been fighting and (supposedly) training MMA for a couple YEARS now. I mean, that guy is progressing slower than me! And he's a full time pro fighter.

My prediction is that Dana will play off his popularity, justifying it by Kimbo's "humbleness and willingness to learn", and get him a couple fights in the big show. Kimbo won't be able to hang, though, and will eventually get cut. Frankly, I'd be surprised if he managed to win any, though I suppose EliteXC proved he does have a punchers chance against cans.

I'm utterly fascinated by so many peoples obsession with physique; and utter disregard of fighting abilities.

If you care so much about watching chiseled specimens epitomizing male beauty, I would recommend you watch gay porn instead of MMA.

I've been seeing a lot of that garbage from people too.

Yeah, Nelson definitely won that fight because he was fat. It had nothing to do with a BJJ black belt.

Fat has some advantages, padding, it unlike muscle does not burn oxygen and it is something special to be drowning in a fat mans gut as you try to escape mount. I would be embarrassed to be a big fat F*ck on national television, hell I would be embarrassed to be a big fat F*ck in front of the mirror but I have been out wrestled and out kick-boxed by enough "fat" guys to know that a fat person can have decent cardio, be tough as hell and have tons of skill.

I think Herb Dean made ythe right call; Kimbo was not being hurt, the round was almost over so he had room to let it go safely. If Kimbo had been hit harder or if it had been earlier in the round a stoppage would have been appropriate (like it was in the second round.) I have reffed MMA matches and I think I would have done the same in this case.

As for the comment about the UFC putting pressure on Herb that is a stretch, Refs are not hired by the UFC the commissions in respective states have a list of refs and they are independent of the promoter even if it is the UFC.

Generally refs prioritize in the following order:

    1. Safety of the Fighter
    2. Adherence to the Rules
    3. Continuity of Action

The three priorities were handled right by Herb, the fighters were safe, rules were followed and the action was good. In the first round the timer let Kimbo up in a reasonable amount of time and once Roy had Kimbo in a position where he could not escape in the second round the fight was stopped.

Maybe Roy is a little sensitive because he is not someone the world wants to see with his shirt off?

Okay, then would you say this stoppage was anticipated?

Rather than excusing them because they wanna make money, how about we actually demand to see good fighters and good fights? They keep talking about doing stuff for the fans, let's make sure those fans aren't of the meathead variety, yeah?
This is some bullshit right here, my ninja. What the **** is you thinking?

Lookie, the Ultimate Fighter is a motherfucking side show. Let's not forget that this show had a great part in propelling the UFC into the spotlight back in '05. Now, it wasn't really about great fights and ****, it was mostly about that the **** was on prime time and motherfuckers saw it. Fans of fighting will not give a **** about the drama on the show. But you know who will? Motherfuckers who are not true fans of fighting. Them ninjas see the drama and go "ohhh, that's some cool ****", next thing you know, cats are tuning in to see UFC XXV on pay per view. It expands the audience by showing everybody who cares to look some drama and ****, that's centred around fighting.

When you watch Mac Danzig fight, do you remember that the house thought he was a bitch? No, because no one gives a **** and no one remembers.

Only real ninjas will survive in the UFC. If Kimbo loses 3 fights in the UFC, motherfuckers will cease to be interested, no matter how many ninjas he fucked up on youtube back in the day. Just like if Brock Lesnar had lost all of his fights, motherfuckers wouldn't be too keen to on him.

So why do I give a **** if motherfuckers get special treatment? Or if there is some exceptional man drama? I don't, my ninja. I don't. **** The Ultimate Fighter, that show is retarded. The only reason I watch that **** is because I want to see what kind of exciting new talent is going to burst on the scene. And so I can have fun following some of the lesser fighters as they struggle to gain fans and recognition (eg. Rob Emerson).

If I want man drama, I'll watch the WWE or some ****.

Also, **** this Roy Nelson ************. Who gives a **** about special treatment. He should have fucked Kimbo Slice up to prove his point. Then he could have been like "Aiyo, that ninja had family and friends present, and I STILL fucked him up. If you listern carefully to the tapes, you can hear him screaming for mommy and ****.".

And then we would have all been like "Ohhhhhhh shhiiiiiiiittttttttttttttt. This Roy Nelson ************ is the truth like Brandon Vera (minus the loss to Tim Sylvia), I wait with eagerness to see him fucking wailing on motherfuckers in the UFC".

But instead we're all like "**** me, that is one fat ************. Aiyo, Does Dana White have to bring a crane in to get his big ass in and out of the cage? ****, it sucks to be Kimbo and get layed on by a fat ************."

Alternatively "Why the **** is Mr. T fighting the Blob?"

Q, my ninja, I love reading your posts.

Yeah, it's just a show, and the real ninjas are gonna be the ones to make it through. It's just hard to say in this situation what's "good" for the sport (good fighters? sportsmanship? drama and ratings?) and what's "bad" for the sport (association with idiots? "leaning" fights? beating the superstar golden goose?).
