    Here's another good one:

Me: Today we are only rolling for positions, no submissions, Do you understand Michael?
Michael: Yes, positions only, no submissions.
I start the rolling session with Michael and his partner.
Michael tries to slap on an toe hold

Me: Michael, go sit in the corner.
Oh yeah.....done both of those a few times.

Is it sad that I've only been teaching for a few years and have seen all of these? Well aside from the kid asking to go before peeing himself. I have had one kid just flat out pee himself rather than ask.

Here is two gems I just had just last week:

Me: Okay, everyone circle around we're going to go over a few techniques. First is dealing with a basic haymaker style punch. Can I have a volunteer? (no one volunteers so I point to a student who has been training under me for almost a year) You, get up here.
Student: No. I'm afraid you'll hurt me.
Me: Have I ever hurt you before?
Student: No, but I'm afraid you might.
Me: Then shut up and get up here.

A few days later we were getting ready to work on clinch range fighting. I had the new guy (16 year old kid who was on his third class) and everyone else paired up. I was in the process of explaining the value of controlling your opponent's head to the group when I was cut off mid sentence by something striking my gut in a hard manner. I turn back to the new guy asked, "Did you just hit me?

new guy: Yeah, I just wanted to see if I could still punch you at this distance
Me: Didn't you notice I was in the middle of discussing what we would be doing to the class?
new guy: Yeah, but I didn't think you would let me do it once we started.
Me: Don't ever hit me again while I'm trying to explain something to the group. Got it?
    new guy: Yeah.

So I go back to trying to my previous explanation when the kid hulls off and gut punches me again. Irritated, I turn back to the kid and without saying a word I grabbed him by the lapels of his gi, threw him to the ground, and immediately establish a full mount on the kid, and slapped on a rape choke (without actually choking him).

Me: Are you ever going to do that again?
    new guy: No
Me: Will I ever have to repeat this lesson?
    new guy: No

Things I've learned as a student:
    1) Think before you ask a question.
    2) Wait until the instructor asks "Are there any questions?" before asking a question.
    3) Only ask "What if the guy does X?" questions if X actually occured while drilling.
    4) If you ask "What if the guy does X?" then expect that you will be asked to perform X and be on the receiving end of the solution. I find this usually results in more of #1.

me: Your doing a good job I can remember when you couldn't do that technique properly, nice!

Student: "No I am not it still does not feel right."

me: I see, well we did talk about how some things are not intuitive, that we need an ucke to tell us feedback us as to if the effect is as should be, how does that figure into your not feeling right?

I bet all you guys can fugre out exactly what comes next.... If you have been teaching for a more than a few years you have run into one of these guys.... anyone want to take a gander?

We get those from time to time. Someone lasts a few weeks and disapears for this reason.

I'd prefer I just got the truth: I'm too fucking weak to learn/get my **** together and get in shape...
