Style: Shitoryu Karate and BJJ
Well, the title should say it all. I'd like to know if there are people who live in the area of Victoria B.C. that I can spar with. Due to my schedule, I can't manage much more than 2 classes of martial arts (1 karate class and 1 BJJ class) per week. I realize that the best way to get better would be via my teachers, but I figure that getting a chance to do some hard sparring or rolling probably won't hurt, and may make up somewhat for the limited classtime I have available.
Unfortunately, my main method of transportation is public transit, so I will not be able to go outside of the city to meet up with anyone.
Even so, is there anyone around that can give me a hand here?

Style: wrestling, judo
Hey bro, I live over in Burnaby. We might be able to figure something out. Right now I`m doing judo, but I have sambo, bjj and freestyle wrestling in my background.

Well, it'll give me a chance to roll, and try and avoid takedowns, which would be useful. Sure, if you think you can get down here, and it's not too inconvenient for you.

Might take a bit. Never actually been to the island

Hey, you're the only person that replied. Any time it might be convenient for you, let me know, and I'll set something up down here.

Aside from the occasional joke about the first four letters? Not bad. I could do better, I could have done far worse. On the downsides, it's not practiced at hard contact, and sparring is more point based (since we largely spar to prepare for tournaments, most of which is point based), and has a ton of kata.
On the plus side, our school trains with aliveness, resistance and cross training is encouraged, and the teachers are willing to allow individual students to train hard contact with them from time to time if they're specifically asked.

Ok, sounds good. I`m not much of a kicker, but I`ll box with you. Where are you training bjj at?

My college has a BJJ club, so that's where I learn. I haven't had too many classes as of yet, but it seems pretty solid. >_> Only problem is I tend to leave it with muscles being pulled out of whack left, right and center. Which plays havoc on my running.
