    Dealing with Downtime

What exactly do you motherfuckers do when you're injured or some **** and you can't train? To deal with, you know, the psychological pain of not being able to kick ass and chew nicorette? When you feel all fucked up because it's been days since you've heard the thud of a heavy bag or heard a ************ say "tap tap tap" because the sub's coming on like whoa.

Do you chill out and watch fighting or technique videos to get yourself all motivated and ****? Do you watch Buakaw and say "yo, if I can hit the bag on a regular, and link up with some cats who can train, there's no reason I can't be making motherfuckers fold up like he does"?

Or do you just chill out and focus on other ****?

Because I had some appendicitis the other day, and motherfuckers had to slice open my abdomen and take that **** out before it caused a problem. So far I'm one week into the rest (they say 4 is minimum), and I'm already looking to jump off the third storey of this building right here.

Granted, I wasn't training as much as previously, but really, I can't even play soccer or some ****.

I am dealing with my injury by going to class but just watching. I still get to see what everyone is learning and it is better then not going at all. I also keep in the habit of going to each class so when I can get back to training it wont be a big deal. I think that if I did not go then I would get unmotivated after a couple of weeks.

If you can't train your body, train your mind. Read books, play chess, do word puzzles or sudoku. Watch fights and break them down, analyzing the smallest levels of detail in technique, execution, and reaction.

There's also the options of training stuff that won't bother your injury-areas. Improve your dexterity, play a musical instrument, draw and paint, sculpt, whittle, origami, etc. Man's first activities may have been fighting, but we've had a real long time to develop other stuff.

Focus on the stuff I can improve. In my case upper body strength and lots of stretching + yoga.

I'm guessing the weights are out, but I'll bet there is some part of your body you could make more flexible.

Which could also be a reference to your hentai collection.
