No, It is very rare that this ever works. Basically, your friend will be your instructor.

Yeah, this does basically seem to be a good place to go if I want a decent cardio work out but for the money I'd be paying, I'd want something with harder sparring. I think I'll have to check the yellow pages again and see if that other school is still operating. Even the people I used to train with said that's where the real hardasses are. (including, apparently, the guy who taught my old instructor)

Why don't you tell us what city you're in, and we can help?

Fair enough. I guess I'm still in that whole 'Don't give out information on the internet' mindset.
I'm down in Ohio, small town (Woodville) about 12-15 miles from Fremont.

Nobody gives a damn who you are, and I mean that in a good way. :)
Have you looked into gyms in Toledo or Fremont? Those look like your best bets, you unfortunately live in Littletown USA, but it doesn't look like it's too bad of a drive over to either of those cities.

This is true. I've checked in Fremont before. I may have to drag out my yellow pages again and look into it. It's just been a while since I trained ANYWHERE since my money kinda...dried up.
