Is Peoples and other UFC judges former boxing refs? That would explain their reluctance to award points for damage done by kicking techniques.

Ignoring your insurance, yes I do. Machida started icing the legs after what, the second round? Rua was a hell of a lot closer to finishing 5 minutes in than Machida ever was.

Forrest should do another low kick demonstration, this time on that moron.Rua was much closer to finishing Machida then the other way around.

Anyway it was a good fight minus this bullshit.I'm quite stocked for the rematch.

Machida had a lot more face punchings (and an embarrassing amount that got deflected by a static head cover) over the course of the fight, and I can't think of any place he was in greater danger than when he slipped and had to scramble up ten feet from a charging Rua.

Rua got one good hit in in the flurry near the end of the third, but Machida hit him six or seven times before that, and that's the most action packed the fight got.

    Those strikes didn't land.

I haven't read all of the posts, but felt I'd way in with my thoughts. Firstly, anyone saying robbery is just plain wrong. That fight was razor close. I had it up for grabs personally. I think a lot of people need to rewatch the fight without that asshat joe rogan's commentary. He was incredibly biased from round 1. He kept commenting on the devestating leg kicks, even saying "They were the most devastating leg kicks they'd seen." That's utter bullshit and nuthuggery. They didn't slow down machida at all. See Griffin/Rampage, Jardine/Lidell, Vera/Pratt as examples of much more devestating leg kicks. Shogun landed great shots, however you all seem to think Machida did exactly dick. Shogun's body was as bad if not worse than machida's at the end, and every round machida landed some really solid combinations. It was an extremely evenly mached fight. I wanted Machida to win, but I would not be upset at all had Shogun won. I felt an argument could be made for either. Either way, Shogun WAS NOT as dominant as many of you seem to think he was.

As for a fix? Are you kidding? The UFC wanted Shogun to win that fight as evidenced by the fact that he got the title shot to begin with at all. He did absolutely nothing to earn it. Was the the toughest fight Machida has had? Yes. Can it be argued that Shogun won? Yes. Did Shogun dominate that fight start to finish? Absolutely not. It was an extremely close fight, and I'm looking forward to the rematch.

As an aside, if you honestly think that was the worst decision ever you have no business ever watching MMA again. Go watch Bisping/Hamill and tell me that wasn't a worse decision.

What exactly am I wrong about?
Did you honestly feel Shogun dominated that fight?
Did you feel that that decision was worse than Bisping/Hamill?
Did you feel that Joe Rogan wasn't swinging from Shogun's nuts?
Did you feel those WERE the most devastating leg kicks ever?
Did I say I felt Machida won that fight?

Furthermore, what else have I been wrong about?
