    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    boxing- mayweather vs marquez- spoiler

if i could describe this fight in one word- yawn.

Mayweather- fast, good defense, evasion, accuracy... and played it safe. While I do like watching him fight he really is not very exciting. he might not know how to lose but he knows how to make people not care about a win.

Marquez wasnt in this fight from the bell, outclassed in every way- speed, power, endurance.

also Marquez was visable slower and Floyd basically didn't even try to make weight coming at his natural weight agaist a lightweight champion.

BUT, THE FIRST 2 FIGHTS WERE REALLY EXCITING!!!

JMM looked very small compared to Mayweather. Floyd really needs to start picking on guys his own size.

    Honestly, mayweather outskilled marquez.

It's funny how it's all the hardcore boxing fans who are saying "oh mayweather only beat marquez because of SIZE". Look i'm sorry, but that kind of beating doesn't come from a 10 pound difference.

I agree that Mayweather outclassed him, but it could also be argued that JMM was his best at Super Featherweight (130lbs) and only fought twice above or at 135lbs. Mayweather came in at 146 and then refused to be weighed again unofficially on fight day and quite frankly looked a lot bigger then JMM.

Was it all about size? No. But to say that it wasn't a factor is wrong. Other factors that pointed in Mayweather's were:

    -Speed
    -Height
    -Reach
-Fewer wars (maybe as a result of cherry picking his opponents since he went toe to toe with Jose Louis Castillo)

But yeah, he did win by a wide and decisive margin.

I was really hoping to see Marquez make a comeback and shine in later rounds like he did when he fought pacman to a (disputed) draw. I'm definitely going to pull for pacman if he fights mayweather though. That would be a good match-up, the lightning-fast scrambler vs. the defensive boxer.

no it wont. manny packs a lot of power when people walk into his punches (like Hatton)

vs mayweather he is too small and his wild style will get picked apart. imo, of course.

I called it, Mayweather was way too good for Marquez in the first place. Too good, too fast, too strong.

I don't think a Pac-man fight will happen, honestly. It's been said so many times about how Floyd's management is a major obstacle when trying to get fights, I think he'll keep ducking Pac-man until he's ready to retire again. Don't wanna risk that undefeated record, right?
