How many mechanical engineers go to the middle of Africa to test out their prosthetics on millions of children? How many bio engineers go to the middle of china to spread some kind of vaccine for common sicknesses?

This website was started to promote rational thinking in martial artists. This website was started to promote a battle for good and the spreading of rational thought and ability through forum and contextual fact.

Martially Borlaug was a badass. He wrestled and made it to the Big 10. That is a huge accomplishment. I had never heard of this guy before, and as to whether he is badass of the month or not...meh. however, the suggestion earlier on that he made a mistake because he saw a problem that he had the necessary skills and knowledge to at least attempt to remedy, stepped up to the plate, and did nothing about any of the other problems of the world (well ok, populaton control problems), is crazy.

how many people who are renowned for making a difference do so in a multitide of areas.

surely the man's accomplishments should stand for what they are, not fall on the reasoning that he didnt do enough

It's amazing to believe that a billion people would have died if it hadn't been for Normal Borlaug's actions. And given the Nobel Prize committee's credibility after giving a similar award to Obama just for running his mouth non-stop, I'm not sure I do!
