take for example this little bit of ...of ... ummm... something ... called "I Come To You With Only Karate"
from his "rules" page
which really isn't a rule of course ... here are some of the rules I have found and find questionable .I come to you with only Karate
My hands are empty
I fear no man
But should I be forced to defend myself,
my principals,
or my honor,
Should it be a matter of life or death
right or wrong
Then here are my weapons
my empty hands
Karate
taken from this page
Take special note of the hypocrisy in the second to last on the "do not list" above . The wording is golden .Always:
* Addressing the instructors and each other formally by their appropriate titles
* Warm up while waiting for class to begin
* Support Ralph Smith Karate by purchasing official clothing and equipment
* Purchase your own equipment and put your name on it
* Tell and invite your friends to join Ralph Smith Karate
Do Not:
* Never use your knowledge on anyone outside the dojo - except to avoid injury to yourself or a loved one
* Never engage in any behaviour that brings discredit upon yourself or the dojo
* No talking once class has begun
and of course

you have to wonder about anyone who would post that picture free range on the web . -

I want to point out all the double negatives and the lack of basic reading and writing skills in every section of the web site ... but that would just distract from the magic chalkieusa mentioned earlier .

Does anyone happen to know how old "Grandmaster" Smith is ?Last edited by BackFistMonkey; 9/12/2009 9:31am at .

Let's recap: The place seems VERY strict on having formal titles for the leaders, having everyone not only purchase his official gear, but also put their names on it so that he can see who is using their own and who is borrowing gear, having members recruit more members, and uses loaded language with special codes.
Is anyone else picking up serious cult vibes? -

I live in MA, if you like I could go with you to visit the gentlemen so he doesn't pull a fast one on you. I'm out of Lowell, so its a drive but I wouldn't mind seeing what this guy has to offer if he lets us watch his training.
However, according to your Style list, you are already proficient in many MA's so why bother? -
