Maybe 20 years ago when nobody outside of the Thais knew what a leg kick was and Van Damme was in his 20s, but still probably not. Unless you're kidding, then well put.

It's a midlife crisis.
However, looking at Somluck's Olympic record, looks like he peaked around fifteen years ago. And he's very popular in Thailand, and an actor now as well. Maybe they figure that he can't murder VD, but VD still looks legit if he loses to an Olympic gold medalist.

There are only three choices for celebrities past their prime: competition fighting, the born again christian circuit, or porn. This may be the best option for JCVD.

BTW, was that a Stallone impersonation or did JCVD just have a stroke? I really can't tell without speakers on.
