    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    protein advice?

i am looking to add protein to my diet wich is more on the vegetarian side , for the purpose of gaining muscle mass and strength.

i know im gonna need supplements to do this.
there are a lot of protein powders out there. in the past i had good results from whey isolate, but i found it had some negative side effects that i couldnt figure out. i'm intolerant to cheese and some other fermented products so i was thinking this could be the reason, but i dont understand because there is no fat or sugar in that stuff. and no cultures are listed on the label.

so what are my other options?

i hear bad things about soy(for men). has anyone had good effects with it?
would rice/pea protein combined with casein and eggwhites be a good choice?
also i dont want to take creatine becuse of its dehydrating effects and the indigestion, but i'm only familiar with the powders which i used before.
are the serums or effervescent stuff any better?

any thoughtful advice is appreciated .
    thanx.

I haven't noticed a bit of friggin difference between regular old food, and soy-based powders, egg products, whey products etc. Other than the demoralizing factor of not only eating/drining when you don't want, but eating stuff which doesn't taste all that great.

Just eat. Gimme a banana, blender, whole milk, and I'm happy.

Lemme reiterate. If you're a hard-gainer, you have no choice but to eat when you absoloutly do not want to. No supplement is going to take the place of that. That's why they call it a supplement. Don't even bother til you're gains have diminshed to the degree that you'd like a bit of an edge.

I would have to say, still go with creatine in powder form.
The fizzy stuff (effervescent) creatine works well, but it is more expensive. Serums and liquid mixes of creatine contain higher amounts of creatinine, which is creatine broken down.

Have it with glucose to stimulate an insulin response to facilitate the shuttling of creatine into your blood cells faster.

And ensure that whatever brand you buy, also has at least 2 extra ingredients with names you can't pronounce. This ensure quality.
