No the ANA are motivated when: (takes breath)
They want paper, toner, use your copier instead of theirs, pens, pencils, sharpies, staplers, thumb tacks, dry erase markers, (OH DON'T FUCKING GET ME STARTED ON OFFICE SUPPLIES!!! YOU ARE SITTING RIGHT NEXT TO THEIR MINISTRY OF DEFENSE AND THE FUCKERS STILL WAN TO "BORROW" OFFICE SUPPLIES!!!!) *breathe* your supplements, play with your psp/ ps2/ xbox/ipod/zune/etc , use your personal laptop to surf the internet.....

And what kills me is a complete lack of work ethic (which in normal for them) The officers will LEAVE when they feel like it. The ones at Palecharki mostly live in Kabul and just go home when they feel like it. I was asked if I wanted to do a Judo and/or MACP class for the ANA like I did for the CAV (US) unit at Altimur. I told them I would think about it but not really keen on the idea.

In the Balklands they had a lot of criminal orgs with their hands in everything but atleast the locals had pride in themselves.
Do you mean Balkans? The Balkans were AWESOME!!! I was on one LNO mission where we were to meet this group that literally took over a village and set up shot in the "mayor's" house, was a nice house btw. All these guys strutting around trying to look tough and mean to us was almost comical. Talks were going nowhere, we ate alot of boiled eggs and drunk coffee, it wasn't until I whipped out my NeoGeo Pocket Color that the we became chummy. I was sitting in a corner and they started watching me play and I passed it around. We ended up buying a couple for them. Your tax dollars at work! (Oh there was this time with a party, roasted pigs, beer, rakya, and hookers and ....)

Sandbag2 you still sound like a dipshit.

I had absolutely no problems in Eygpt. Well save for the fact that I think one of the vendors actually sold us Camel **** as authentic Egyptian cuisine! I have a cast iron stomach and a mutant ability to choke down almost anything but that was one of the worst things I have ever eaten and that's saying A LOT coming from me.

Can't help it, I was raised on Asterix.
LOL! Asterix in Britain is my favorite. I just DLed all the Asterix cartoons so I can subject my kids to the same things I had growing up. Between Dragonball, Asterix, and Danger Mouse their going to be a weird as I am.

Americans (ISAF?) Doesn't help though. I was voluntold to teach the ANA how to mount & fire the US M203's on M16a1's.
Well, that's what I was told.
Then we were told we were supervising ANA weapons techs mounting them..
In truth me and a few Canadians, couple marines and two US army sgt's had to mount hundreds of the fuckers on M16s while the ANA fucked around, stole our tools, bitched and complained about bad working conditions wanting more money and took 2 hour lunch breaks and left for prayers for the rest of the day at 2pm.

After we finished the job (the ANA doing **** all) the US airforce officers 'incharge' of the project showed up and acted like the fucking ANA discovered fire. Took pictures with them holding the M203s like Rambo going on and on about Isaf-afghan cooperation.
Forgive me for crying in my beer here but ya, we're not doing the fucking afghans any favors.

I prefer searching houses in the Balklands having 18 year olds show off their self-made soft core porn collection.
You are not free whose liberty is won by the rigour of other, more righteous souls. Your are merely protected. Your freedom is parasitic, you suck the honourable man dry and offer nothing in return. You who have enjoyed freedom, who have done nothing to earn it

I agree. I think we can have a long drawn out bitch fest about dealing with the ANA. I helped with BRM for about a month then quit. More NDs in one week than in 3 yrs training new boots.

The only foreign army I interacted with was actually the US army :).
I watched the technicians from the USAF and the Navy work on their jets and talk to them, they seem to have more knowledge on more systems, probably because they serve twice the amount of time than an average Israeli soldier.
I was also on kitchen duty when the Army was there... I got the impression they were really grumpy and they hated my base, and told me the conditions and food were horrible (well, with the food being horrible I couldn't agree more.) They also tried to "test" our kosher rules (which I followed only in the mess hall, because I had to)- they asked the cook to bring them milk in the middle of lunch, and he told them he couldn't do that.
I don't remember with which core members I exchanged stuff. They gave me card decks with a hole through all the cards, I think they told me it was from Vegas, and a patch to a unit called "The Conquistadors". We gave them an Israeli AF barrete and some other stuff I can't remember. Maybe they were from the Navy. I corresponend by Email with a guy from the Navy called Garie for a short period of time.
But the Marines... They were the most "entertaining". They trashed a club in our base, got drunk a lot, some of them openly talked about what drugs they took like they were proud of it. Two marines drove a tractor, probably drunk, on the runway, and crashed it into the ditch. There was also a rumor that I didn't verify that a few years back, before my service, a drunk marine fell of the fourth floor of the dorms and died.
Of course there are also some good memories, I sat half a night with some of them, one of them had a guitar, and we played songs by weezer, stone temple pilots, and others I can't remember.
There was this one time at the pool when the marines played with the Israeli soldiers some ball game, and the Israeli guys started trouble and almost caused a fight. The marine guys were nice and backed off, saying they are not worth it. I kinda felt sorry for that because the Israeli guys deserved a beating, and the Marine guys were so much bigger than the one causing all the trouble.
Oh yes, of course on many of those encounters Israeli soldiers and US ones had sex with each other, some times the number of women and men involved were'nt even :P.
I myself didn't get to participate in any trans-atlantic orgies...

Yeah, the Balklands are a couple of Stealth Islands near the Falklands but closer to Argentina.

PAO (Public Affairs)--Turning every goddamned event into a "good news story." It gets sickening after a while, shining a positive light on things that don't really deserve a positive light.
