One of the subtle great things about this movie is that a young Rick Moranis plays Diane Lane's manager/current boyfriend. Yes, Rick Moranis.
Back when they were casting the Tim Burton Batman, Willem DeFoe was rumored to be up for the part of The Joker. Partly because he's oh so very Joker-like in Streets of Fire. Ah, what could've been...

Sorry, we were talking about Der's greatness. I go off on 80's movie trivia. I'm sure these are somehow related... -

Maybe I should've posted this version of "Tonight is What it Means to be Young"... I'm saying Der's had this exact conversation with a beautiful woman. (Including, believe it or not, the Spanish subtitles!)

Der's not the kind of guy to be carrying around guitars for anyone! -

Both. One of our regular patrons (who is also a donor to the temple), brought his wife in to the pub. Good, solid dude, nice guy. Banker. Anyway, after he'd had several, he introduced his wife to me (for about the third time that night). His words were something to the affect...
"Look at this guy! He is just so full of joy & kickass! Have you ever seen a bouncer smile like that! He's like Dalton from Roadhouse!" -
