It's not a fight for #1 contender, Gray's being sent in as a hitman to embarrass and dominate Huerta in his farewell fight, similar to how Lyoto Machida was used against Tito Ortiz.
Huerta's sub-par wrestling makes Maynard a horrible style matchup for him, and you can be sure the UFC brass is pissed that Huerta's deciding to leave MMA (for now) to focus on movies, just as they seem to be gearing up for a push into Mexico. -

Grey's also not the most exciting fighter...he's a terrific wrestler, but he doesn't have the pace or insanity of a Clay Guida. He's more of a wet blanket on his opponents, and he only has 1 finish (besides the no contest in the Rob Emerson fight).
In short, he's perfect for making Guida look terrible, but he won't be exciting or unique enough doing it (unlike Machida) to be put in the main event. -

I would never count Huerta out, not 100%, but hey, what we do all know is that it's going to be an awesome fight.
Also Melvin loses via being a coked out scum bag. Why is a sub-par fighter head lining fight night? What the ****? This guy MIGHT get as far a title shot but he will never wear that belt. Ever. Not in the UFC.
