the difference is that "brown pride", because it's written in english, usually refers to the experience of "brown" spanish speaking immigrants in an english speaking land, i.e., latin americans in the US. the US has a rich history of discrimination and violence with the latin population, as well as just about every other color/race, including black, red, yellow....
that is the main difference between almost every other race/color "pride" and "white" pride. -

Usually the people who seem to have the biggest problem with symbols are the ones who have an emotional connection with whatever the symbol represents.
In Rafaels case, he lives in Germany, where there is a huge sense of inherited guilt and wish to distance itself from it's recent history. Not to mention an outright ban on any Nazi symbols. Others may be from an Axis of Evil allied country.
In other cases it may be from being decended from Jewish ancestry.
The point i'm trying to make is that, those with emotianal ties are never in the best position to make a reasonable jusgement, which is of course completely understandable, but perhaps should be pointed out to them. -
