but yeah, he moves a bit stiff but everytime anyone comes close they eat stiff punches everywhere.

he makes it look so effortlessly, its a bit scary how well he dodges all those punches with so little effort or movement. wont even blink if you tagged him
Well, all I know is it's pretty painful. A lot of hands, not a lot of kicks. Compliance drills, body-hardening, hard physical exercise. Kata. It's Okinawan. I know a lot of people say "yeah, I do karate". I think Vieux would approve. My arms, at the moment, are red from smashing them against a wooden post.

If I ever run into a wooden post who wants to fight, I will **** him up.

We have bone conditioning drills which are really us smashing our forearms or shins...no we dont break boards. We actually are a soft block hard counter style. We train alive, with resistance, i really enjoy it. I'm also fortunate to be at a great dojo.

Would you mind telling me where? I'm new to Shorin-ryu and find it really compatible with my previous training, minus the grappling.

Sure ..ewcdojo.com. Sensei Dan Schroeder, Sensei Yamashita's senior student. He can be found here http://tadashiyamashita.com/menushorinryu.html. Because Okinawan Sumo is alot like football here in the states, we do grapple. Its not to the extent of BJJ but we learn so we dont get taken down or caught in something.
