    Hell yeah! Hell no!

So I cant train bjj for a few months. Karate?

So i'm an 18 yearold loser without a drivers license, and i just moved (with my parents, baller status) into the indianapolis area a month or so ago and have been really missing martial arts training. I did a little over six months of brazillian jiujitsu where i used to live and fell in love -- however, without a good public transportation system where i live i'm waiting on getting my license (onwards and upwards!) before i can go back to training.

But after a few months of sitting at home i'm starting to really miss training and feel a bit guilty. I've exhaustively searched for schools within walking or biking distance and i havent found an ounce of bjj, judo, sambo, kickboxing, or anything of the sort.

However, i pass this almost every day... And the adult class sure looks legit!

his program is similar to our regular program curriculum but we can do a lot more in this class because we don't have to worry about age sensitive training methods and techniques. Your training will consist of conditioning, Kihon (basics), Kata (Training routines), Self-Defense and some sport applications.

help bullshido. Or recommend at home workouts or something more constructive.

It doesn't say "sparring" or "kumite" so I would recommend not going. If you learn bad habits you'll have to un-learn them later.

As for what else to do....get a bike or a license....I dunno, man. Your parents won't drive you?

Let me amend that. Go and try a class, and confirm A) sparring rules and B) frequency of sparring.

In 2001, Shihan was promoted to the head of his own style of martial arts he named Shorei Kai. This style reflects Shihan’s diverse martial arts and educational background and is firmly rooted in Traditional Okinawan Karate. Our classes are disciplined but engaging and fun. You’ll be physically and mentally challenged with lots of interesting curriculum in a safe environment.
    Between that, and this:

    hard call.

The web site doesn't seem to mention his qualifications, who promoted him, the arts he studied, or for how long (other than running the school for 30 years.)

Ask about his qualifications, I guess.
He does seem good at catching eggs...

I'd rather go to a gym and lift weights then attend this karate school.

    Glad you added that.

Karate is a fine choice as long as you pick the right place. I wouldn't usually respond to a Karate question, buy I have a buddy that does Shotokan that recently kicked me in the leg harder than anybody has in a looooong time, so I thought I'd share.

You should hit the gym, do stronglifts and mad cardio, get in awesome shape and then go back to BJJ. Wreck everyone.

Check it out. The quality of karate schools varies widely. If they do kumite there, it might be a good choice (provided the kumite has any semblance of fighting, and not overprotected games of tag). If they don't.... what Marcus said.
