i'm just saying its a bad idea to use a double leg on the street, what if the person your fighting friends come over you shoot in on him and you cant see whoes behind you, then you end up in side control and you still cant see who's behind you, mma is a sport and some of the techniques could be used in the street but not all, for example some people in mma turtle up because there are rules, but turtling up in the street is one of the worst decisions you could make, there are rules in mma but in the street forget about it.

When you are standing up you have the ability to back up so everyone is infront of your or to run.

I never said training in a ma for a sport is a bad idea. I train in an mma class and a bjj class, and to me some of the techniques would be great in the street like pretty much anything in bjj is great for 1 on 1 combat in the street and mma's punches and thai kicks are good also. But i was refferring to multiple people like 1v4 i wouldnt do a double leg on someone because then 3 other people would run up behind me, but thats just my opinion.

you're more mobile, yes. but if they have half a brain they'll make sure they get behind you.

also keep in mind that it could take you a few minutes to finish off one person whether you're standing or not. while you're focusing on one, the other will be hitting you, and you might not see the punches coming. you're pushing **** up a hill.

running can be a good idea, just hope they can't run faster than you.
