Which is great, really the best known to man, unless you're in an airport, in a Federal building of one stripe or another, or living in New York, Chicago, or D.C., etc.

Why does this person need self-defense? That is a good place to start. Are they likely to encounter physical violence, of what sort? Are the areas desolated or well populated.
For most people self-defense consists of not being drunk and paying attention to your surroundings.

Most Federal buildings are craling with armed guards and if you live in Chicago, New York, D.C. then personal safety is not your main concern. That being said, I was kidding. I wouldn't be on Bullshido if I didn't believe everyone needed to train in the martial arts.

OK then, just for the entertainment value... (understanding that I am a HUGE proponent of self defense using firearms)

Well, I don't know about "crawling" with them. Most of the ones I've been at have armed gate security and little else. Make it past the gate guard and you're far more unfettered. I'll stipulate that an armed gate guard is far more than most other "off limits" locations, such as schools, offer.

Unless you're "stuck" there for some reason or another, such as you've got an actual real JOB in a time where effective unemployment rate is between about 10% and 17% depending on which stat you cite and you don't feel like taking the risk of trying to get a job somewhere more SD friendly. ;)

OK. I understand. I would never expect someone to quit their job just to move somewhere that isn't crazy. ;)

    hehe
Again, understand that I wholeheartedly believe that the british Archery Acts of 1515 and 1628 should be implemented as law here in the U.S., replacing "Bows" and "Arrows" with "Guns" and "Ammunition."

Sort of a variation of Switzerland's take on it.

    Peace favor your sword,
