In any case, if a Ju-jitsu student asks another: "Why the new belt?", the answer may well be: "Guess the teacher liked my jits."

Not sure I'd want to hear the equivalent in a Bartitsu school...especially if I were the student's parent.

Luckily, there are no belt ranks in Bartitsu. Potential disaster averted. Move along, nothing to see here.

I've always been told why, by the BB with any rank related thingy, like your Guard is great take a stripe, or you won your tournament take three stripes or something alone those lines, (I need to win a tournament now and a new belts mine...)
