    hair tieing for grappling...

threw this here, as i'm sure it's not advanced grappling discussion.

yes, i have long hair. shoulder length. sure, having it short would be more practical, specifically as i am into grappling. but at the same time, when the last 3 women you've dated beg you to NEVER cut your hair short again, you start to think about your priorities...

anyways, got a tourney next sunday. normally, i just put on a hairband, which eventually flies off during rolling, but i don't mind. but i'd rather my hair not getting in the way AT ALL during the tournament, as sometimes it does impari my vision a bit.

how is this achieved? danke in advance.

in MMA fights that I've seen, long haired individuals put their hair into corn rows sometimes.

Yeah, I'm moving this to YMAS. Call me capricious, but this is too far removed from technique to be left in this forum.

One thing to remember, YMAS is also the general martial arts forum.

I think your question is a valid one, but it is too far removed from MA technique for me to keep it in the technique forums.

[snicker] Oh, one more thing, cut your hair you damn hippy. [/snicker]

my BJJ is just as good (or... bad) either way. hippielooking or not. and hippielooking has gotten me more perks than otherwise.

    I just cut mine short...

It wasn't vision related, it was when I would get put in side control and they have a tight elbow against my neck (not cross-face), having my hair get pulled out like that sucks. So I cut it.

If women are only with you for your hair...well...you know...

(Either that's your best feature, or your distracting feature...heh)

Haha!! Or, one of these (women love them):
