How is that possible? How can you make those two statements and not see they are contradictory? Is it not a little awkward that the newest black belt teaches the senior black belts? So who exactly would be one of the vary people in that room that he instructed?
However, a black belt should have enough restraint and discipline anyway not to lose it like he is some animal that wants to crack skulls open. Even more if your opponent does not want to harm you and tries to surrender. From a grown man, ex military, black belt karate instructor I would definitely expect that he has matured as a person and is secure enough to not let that happen even if it is in front of his students. (Otherwise he may have a horrible Sensei) There is no shame in it to get knocked down if your opponent is good. Your father underestimated KFG and that was his own fault.
I am really in doubt which one in that video is the mentally challenged guy.
I'm not sure if this is worthy of contribution but would it be fair to assume that a lot of Coldfire's accounts of the event would have been from his Father telling him his side of the story? Most people have very few memories from the age of 8, and they would likely be very hazy and unreliable. Therefore, though he may not be lying, his information should be taken in context, and it is unfair to expect it to hold up to severe scrutiny.
There's a lot of ways that could happen. The prosecutor may have not filed on the charges until later, at which point a warrant was issued. Or maybe he was given a court date and failed to appear at which point a bench warrant was issued. At any rate, it is not uncommon at all for someone to be picked up for something and then months later get another warrant for the same thing, or to be arrested multiple times related to the same charge.

If your father wishes to explain his point of view, it would go a long way toward settling the matter. I asked you to get him to come here and explain himself, and he could have at least contacted the mods and privately engaged them. Thus far, the only person telling his side of the story was eight years old.
This story finally made the news........
Sorry if this has already been posted but I was so excited about this that I am posting it very quickly. I have been using your site everyday since seeing the video hoping that it would finally make the news and thinking that if any discussion forum came upon something it would be this one, I never thought I would be posting here myself...just skulking and hoping so forgive me if I seem a bit to excited in posting this news story. Like most people who saw the video I spreadt it around like wildfire and sent it to anyone I thought may be able to get it some attention from authorities and hoping to at the very least learn that the victim is still alive somewhere and at the most that justice would be served for at least this one crime because it has been brought to people's attention and seems to be clear cut evidence that some type of crime has been committed. Now it is in the news and is being investigated by Virgina police. So hopefully I and many others can now sleep a little better. My heart has been broken ever since I saw the video so my relief at seeing it in the news is very profound.
I want to give a special thanks to Ben Carnes
Who also showed his compassion and got the video passed around at AP. He set his Google alert for any news about this crime and found that it made it into the news!

Caught on Tape: Karate Student Brutally Attacks Mentally Challenged Man
By Norma Yuriar
Hanford, Calif. (KMPH News) - A shocking and disturbing video that is now making its way across the internet has captured the attention of the Hanford Police Department.
The six minute video shows a karate instructor ordering a student to beat and possibly kill a mentally challenged man.
"It is such a disturbing video and whether it's real or not that still needs to be confirmed," said Hanford Police Chief Carlos Mestas.
Chief Mestas says his department is assisting in the investigation of a possible crime committed 25 years ago in the state of Virginia.
"This was a very disturbing beast type of beating," said Mestas.
The footage was supposedly taken on December 13, 1984 at a karate dojo reportedly owned by Sgt. Bobby Joe Blythe who may now be living in Hanford.
"1984, that's 25 years ago, so this guy, the owner of the Dojo was 38 or 39 years old. We think that he was possibly in the military at the time hence Quantico Virginia," said Mestas.
Blythe has not been named a suspect. Attempts by KMPH News to speak with him at his home in Hanford have gone unanswered.
Mestas says he is working with local, state, federal and military investigators on the case. The video known on the internet as the "Jesus taught me" clip captures the fight between a black-belt karate student and a mentally challenged man.
Investigators say although Blythe is not seen personally hurting the victim in the video, he could still face legal troubles.
"He didn't do anything about it and he had control of it since that was one of his students. You could almost say he was the one that directed it," said Mestas.
The victim in this case can be heard saying he does not want to fight, just to demonstrate some skilled moves that "Jesus taught him". Despite his plea, the beating continues.
"Having seen his head get stomped as many times as he did, I would be surprised that he survived it or did not have at least major brain damage," said Mestas.
What's more upsetting is no one present in the video tries to help the bloodied man. He is immediately dragged out the back door like it's no big deal.
Investigators say there are still many unanswered questions including confirmation of the identities of everyone involved.
Chief Mestas says if the video is authentic it could help convict everyone involved of a crime.
"Yes, it's a cold case, there is a lot of work that needs to be done by other agencies," said Chief Mestas. "They will probably have to look for missing person cases, 25 years back, who knows? Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this."
Hanford Police is not disclosing the names of the local, state and federal agencies involved because Mestas says it could jeopardize the investigation.
For those wondering about the KMPH News broadcast, here it is:
YouTube - Bobby Joe Blythe to be hunted down and caged
I'm glad that the local news and police have picked up the story, although I'm dismayed that they must insist on questioning whether this is real or not.
In regards to setting up the flyer and craigslist ad... I am starting to work on it.
I am guesttimating that the victim is approximately 6'2" and 175LBS. I'm no expert at guessing this stuff, and its difficult to establish a frame of reference, but that's my guess at what his height / weight are. If anybody with better abilities to judge height/weight have a more precise estimate, please share it.
I will setup a phone number local to area code 703 (using google voice) that will allow people to leave voice mail tips.
REQUEST FOR HELP - ATTN NEWBS!
Can somebody with better video skills than myself, pull a few of the best possible still frames from the video that show the victim's face and body in the most recognizable position? Ideally we would have a front view, a side view, and a 3/4 view of his face, and at least one of his body.
Couple of points:
1) Anyone saying him being chucked in a dumpster in the middle of winter is tantamount to finishing him off has never been homeless. Good for you! While I doubt that Blythe and Dennis thought about this, the inside of a rubbish-filled or even empty dumpster is a helluva lot warmer than a street in the middle of winter. IF he was even chucked in the dumpster: one of the 'witness' accounts from War Wheel says he was propped up.
2) The fact that the media have picked up on it and the police are investigating is all this needs. This thread should be culled and moved to the BB forum, and the investigation summary put up. There's no need for it to continue out here with us n00b monkeys climbing all over it! Send all the useful info to the police investigating it and they'll be at the bottom of it within a week.
3) When you send it to the media who already did that report you may as well include a summary of relevant bits and bobs that points out inaccuracies in their reporting: that will help the police to get to the bottom of it quicker. I.e. He probably didn't die; he probably wasn't mentally ill as such (one 'witness' said he was high, remember?); it is definitely not fake etc.
4) People saying Coldfire should be able to find out the KFG's name should back off. The only way he'd be able find it out is by calling Blythe (are you guys sure even Dennis Snr would know it?!) and they don't appear to be bosom buddies: plus the media and the police haven't got anywhere with Blythe yet, so I don't think he's quite the chatty sort.
5) I'm fluent enough in Japanese and know a few fairly high up people in a couple of ryuha of Okinawan karate over here: if anyone thinks it's worth it I could check out if Blythe's/Dennis's ryuha still lists them as active in the style and send their style head a mail with some translation of the vid, so they'll get disowned, not that it'd probably make much difference to them.
i know i am a noob here but ive read the entire thread and talked to some friends of mine and thru my friend sean he knows an assistant editor at the potomac news and put me in touch with them and ive linked to bullshido and given a quick rundown to them and theyve just emailed me to say theyve recieved this story more than 200 times and are working around the clock on this
If you go back to the police report posted earlier on this thread, you will find Dennis' height and weight. IIRC he is about my size now as a 50 year old. I am 5' 9", 220 lbs. At 25 and in peak condition I would have been around 175-180 lbs.
