Does anyone know anything about the Eastern USA International Martial Arts Association and what gives them authority to issue soke, Doctor of Philosophy, and judan certificates? -

That place looks insanely degree/belt mill-ish to me. The organization doesn't have an official website (defunct aol member page, aol address for correspondence... really?), if you google, everyone and their mom has an award from here - ranking in jma's, "black belt hall of fame" induction, 'founder of style,' "doctorates of martial arts"' certificates.
I think it merits its own investigation. -

Blatant lie .
You may have seen a few approaches but based on your ignorance all you have done is SEE .I have seen all the judo and akido ukemi
Your ignorance is showing again please fix your dress .and some is good and some not.
Seriously , it is embarrassing . Stop trying . I haven't seen someone who claims to be an instructor but is this unaware of his students skill levels in a LONG time .Our happenso be very good ukemi...i believe that is why you do not like it.
I hope you have a strong mind, for if you ever actually train in a martial art that covers grappling, take downs, and throws you will learn the basics and are going to be horrified with your own statements and your video collection . -

I agree. Here are some of the comments on the JudoForum about this organization.

The key word in his bio was "honorary". Many legitimate universities who happen to be non-doctoral granting institutions, such as regional schools or liberal arts colleges where the master's might be the terminal degree, are still allowed to give out honorary doctorates and they often do to visiting scholars or dignitaries. Unfortunately, that group is not in that situation. Again however, at least the Tai Chi instructor acknoweledges that it is honorary in nature. That's something I guess...
As for Mr. Cameron, his Soke certificates are likely not worth the paper they are printed on. He still fits the classic martial arts fraud perfectly. Looking at his certificates, I don't think he has a legitimate style of study up there anywhere. Like I said earlier though, I am less fired up about this one than I am the cult aspect of things. Fake martial arts style founders or heads are a dime a dozen. Guys who are all of that, but also lie about their other credentials are a little more rare. Guys who have fake systems, lie about their credentials, and run freaking cults are like striking gold from a fraud standpoint. And that is the real reason that I hope we can continue to shed light on this guy until all the roaches run out and there is nowhere left to hide.Last edited by jwinch2; 8/22/2009 6:57pm at .

The organization presenting an honorary PhD should still be accredited, and there are heaps of others which are not honorary out there. This place is a diploma mill, and since part of it operates in FL, very possibly an illegal one. The PhD in Martial Arts Study isn't just worthless, it's evidence. The key word in his bio was "honorary"
