Exactly. He did and he's trying to bury your comments in the bullshit he's complaining about. It is awesome they won medals, it is awesome to take pictures with your students wearing THEIR medals, it looks like an awesome haul and he looks disingenuous putting the medals on and then attacking everyone with logical fallacies.

You don't know anything troll. Stop trying to stir up anything you can. Legislature will take care of this website one day, and you're going to have to move on to some other cowardly career. People bashing is profitable. You get paid by every click, but your days are numbered. A troll is a troll. Bullshit is bullshit.

Yeah, I'm the troll. I'm the one that removed all of the earlier bullshit. Sure, keep thinking that and watch me put all of that dumb **** right back in the thread.
Stir ****? Sure. If your little story is true, why'd you suddenly change your profile picture? Yeah, that's pretty cowardly since we are throwing around stupid ad-homs.. -

So for all of you that want to see this guy's character, go to facebook, look for Klench Kustom Mouthguards. Private message that guy. He can foward you a text/FB/email exchange between this guy and the guy that runs Klench. It all started about an MMA fight and what he says is a bad call/stoppage by the ref. But then it goes way off the tracks. The crap this guy says. It's priceless. Here's another thinker, how many of you guys that have been promoted, purple, brown, black, etc had the date circled on your calendar? I'm getting my bjj black belt on this date? This guy has been selling his seminar in November and telling all his students it's his black belt promotion ceremony. Since when is a black belt a sure thing? Also, would your professor really want a guy like you representing his association? I don't think James Foster would have a date circled on his calendar for his next promotion.

I was training under Michael for a while and have to say that he is a man of integrity and runs a good school. I had no interest in competitions and was merely attending to learn some BJJ for personal physical improvement. The people that are attacking him either do not know him, or have some personal dilemma that doesn't apply to his teaching abilities, the validity of his achievements, or how he operates his school. While I've been busy with work and have had to travel frequently, I would gladly train with him again when things slow back down.
Hope to make it out there again Michael, thanks

If this post is disjointed, I apologize up front. I'm typing it on an iPad.
When I started training in November 2006, he was a one stripe white belt. He left as a blue belt, went and trained with a guy in puyallup at what was called team psycho, where he was awarded his purple belt. My impression at the time is that he was frustrated at not being promoted under James foster, but that's just my impression as another student. I speak for neither James nor mike.
I've never had a problem with mike, personally, but his reputation in the local drama scene is mixed as one could probably tell from this thread alone.
Regarding his purple belt, Team psycho was run by shon baker, who turned out to be a convicted level 3 sex offender with dubious bjj credentials. www.nhbgear.com/forum/index.php?topic=88178.0
To mike's credit, he severed ties with them immediately and found a legit Bjj black belt to associate with in Montiero. I don't know how or where he met prof. Montiero, but he ended up getting his purple belt affirmed as has been shown already. I don't think there's any reason to doubt that his brown and black belt were also legit. Once again, my impression only, but even though mike did the right thing here, the fallout from this association is part of the lingering issues he has locally. Some people have long memories, right or wrong.
The only thing that seems off in his bio is that he claims to compete and coach at tournaments all over the nation. Mike's school isn't very active locally at the tournaments, although they do take part. The revolution is the biggest tournament in the Seattle area, and he usually has a few competitors. Most are kids, but there are a few who compete as adults. That said, I haven't seen mike compete in a tournament since he was a blue belt, but again, I haven't made a point to scour the registration at every tournament. I know he hasn't competed at any of the "revolution" tournaments in this area. He may travel, I guess. Does someone have to compete to legitimately hold rank? I guess that depends. i don't personally think so, but thats me, but he does allege it in his bio.
Bottom line, his rank is legit, as far as it can be, unless anyone doubts prof. Montiero's credentials. He's goofed a few times, burned several bridges, and there are more than a few people in the local scene who don't like or respect him. But his school is legit. The rest is just Bjj soap opera politics.Last edited by Cowardly Lurker; 11/25/2012 5:06pm at .
