Combat in the Cage put on a show for the MMA fans in Leesburg VA: 5th Offense (I'm guessing because there were 4 priors, just a guess mind you).
With 12 fights on the card, 5th Offense featured lots of fresh faces from the surrounding area, but there were a few more experienced fighters who traveled in from PA and NY to wreak a little havoc in ye olde' Virginia.
The show ran quick, considering the number of fights, as numerous match ups ended early with clearly dominating performances by one fighter or the other- that's the way the game is when everyone's just getting started though.
There were some great KO's and a submission or two to be had between the 2 title fights (4x3min) and 10 non-title boughts (3x3min).
I got 169 good pics for you, my faithful Bullies (HINT: that's a link to all 169), and here are some of the choicer shots!
Both title fights ended in the first round in clear and decisive victories.
In the lightweight title fight, Joey Gambino pounded Chris Clark to ref stoppage at 0:49.
And in the bantamweight title fight, Matt Rizzo pounded out Tom Desmond at 2:01.
I'd have written something more, Bullshido, but my notes got eaten by a bore, and they were regrettably digested beyond the point of legibility by the time I got the pig cut open.
Until next time, keep your eyes open or you won't see it coming!
