Your trolling is weak. At least change it up a bit. The "OMG!!! MUAY BORAN IS THE UBER-BESTEST MARTIAL ART OF EVER!!!!!" was never clever and still isn't.

woooooooo. Luv mauy boran, learned a bit. muay boran is regional with styles coming from different regions of thailand. It's supposed now, that muay boran comes from Khmer/Cambodian bokator. A very complex but deadly and effective martial arts bearing extreme resemblence to Muay Boran. Nowadays Muay Thai fighters in the west don't really kno muay thai. It's not authentic. Muay Boran fighters would destroy them. All u have to do is google muay boran. But what u should really do is google Tony Jaa. Watch Ong-Bak, The Protector, and Ong-Bak 2 from start to finish. Tony Jaa is thailand's fav. son. He isn't thai. He was born in Surin, on the border of Thailand and Cambodia. Both country's claim him and adore him. Thailand says he uses Muay Boran, Cambodia says he usese bokator. He's neither race. He's suoy, indians who, with their elephants, went to thailand and cambodia.and laos too i think. but jus look it up. n jus like sanshou works good with shuai jiao muay boran works good with ling lom. so google ling lom

Muay boran simply means ancient fighting in Thai. As mentioned before, there were different styles from different regions of Thailand. I do not believe muay boran is derived from bokator but perhaps it is as there are few historical records available to prove one way or the other. Tony Jaa claims his style is not bokator, and so does the only practicing bokator instructor in Cambodia. There is an instructor here in Chiang Mai who teaches a style he claims is muay boran.

I do not remember them all but I believe there were 5 main regional styles, one being muay thai chaiya as you stated. I know there was also muay thai korat, which had more techniques using long range kicks and such because Thai people from Korat are generally taller than Thais from elsewhere.
