    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Just started Boxing/Injuries/long term effects i should consider?

I've recently picked up boxing, and i'm curious if anyone here has first-hand experience with Boxing(amateur/professional or just sparring) can tell me about the injuries i'm risking. i've read all over the internet about studies and the rest, but i would also like to hear from people who've actually been in the ring, taken the hits etc.
    -Thanks

I don't have first hand experience, but just look at boxers in general...

Amateur -> Expect to get your nose flattened + some other facial corrections depending on how good you are ;):..

Pro -> Maybe nothing... Maybe Muhammad Ali... And he was the best. Lots of the guys he fought died a long time ago.

Yes; do you think boxing has nothing to do with it...

I don't know. Is there any evidence that it was boxing that brought it about, and that it wasn't something that was inevitable?

Hmm maybe not... Of course it's possible to get Parkinson's anyway.

    I boxed amateur and semi-pro.
It only hurts when you get hit.
    Hope that helps.

Well, my chances of becoming either a pro boxer or a pro actor are about the same ;)...
